Cookie Policy
Last updated: July 8, 2026
1. Policy Overview
This Cookie Policy describes how Discovery Loop, Inc. ("the Company," "we," "us," or "our") uses cookies and browser storage on discoveryioop.dance and the Discovery Loop research automation platform.
We use cookies to manage laboratory access sessions, protect against cross-site request forgery (CSRF), and measure anonymous platform use. We do not use them for advertising or behavioral targeting, or set third-party advertising pixels.
2. Cookie Basics
Cookies are small files a site places in your browser. They help recognize a device between requests, keep a session active, and save preferences. We also use localStorage to store cookie-banner dismissal status.
3. Cookie Use
| Category | Examples | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
| Strictly necessary | lab session token, CSRF token, banner dismissal | session to 12 months |
| Preferences | UI settings, display preferences | up to 12 months |
| Analytics | anonymized page views, session duration, feature-use totals | up to 13 months |
| Marketing | not used | not applicable |
4. Notice and Choice
In the United States, this site uses notice-only consent. Non-essential analytics cookies may load with a page. Continued use of the Service acknowledges this. Opt out through the cookie banner or browser settings. Strictly necessary cookies, including session and CSRF cookies, cannot be disabled without breaking platform functionality.
5. Universal Opt-Out
We honor Global Privacy Control ("GPC") signals in California, Colorado, Connecticut, Texas, and Oregon. When GPC is detected, analytics initialization is skipped for that session. We do not sell personal information or conduct cross-context behavioral advertising.
6. Third-Party Cookies
Our analytics provider sets analytics cookies as a data processor under a data processing agreement. We use no advertising networks, social-media pixels, or retargeting cookies.
7. Cookie Control
- Use the cookie banner to dismiss the notice; its dismissal is stored in localStorage. Reopen it through the footer's "Cookie preferences" link.
- Your browser can block or delete cookies at any time.
- Blocking strictly necessary cookies breaks lab session authentication.
8. Changes and Contact
We may revise this policy. Last updated: July 8, 2026.
